Question:

Do You Think This Person Overreacted?

I asked someone where a certain can of paint was, and they said "Over by the sink." I responded by saying "I know about that one, I meant the other one." So they jumped up, tore the door off the cabinet (no joke, I just finished gluing it back on) and said "There it is!!!" Of course, that wasn't even it. Then they spent the next 20 minutes nagging me about insane stuff, like "You don't know how to open a pop can!" Even though I do, so you see how this is going. Eventually, they tell me where the paint really is, and then they told me they would punch me or something because the baby got near the paint while I had the hammer shutting the lid. Is that overreacting?

  1. YES! that sounds crazy lol :)

  2. This is person is very angry with you.  It has nothing about the paint or the baby.  The anger is bubbling over.

  3. Overreacting doesn't even begin to describe it.  Obviously there is something more that this person is upset about, something that they are bottling up and refusing to discuss.  Try to talk to them (after they cool off, because you don't want another anger episode) and ask them what is really bothering them.  I'm assuming it's a woman because we're famous for "nagging" as you put it. :)  If you pester them enough about what's wrong, they'll eventually share the root of their problem.

NOTE: Don't just ignore the overreaction, because it may be a cry for help. (We're famous for that, too.)

    Best wishes!

  4. Yes, but there is definitely more to the reaction either that you know about or don't and you could just be the brunt of the reactions.

  5. They are insane
