... sort of like the M1911 which has been a popular handgun for nearly a hundred years? Or do you think it will be phased out/replaced by a new style or type of handgun to be forgotten?

  1. styles come and go. its hard ot say for sure, but i would have to say it probably won,t even be made by then. don't get me wrong, i think its a fine gun, but only a very few designs manage to last more than 10-15 yrs. even classics like the luger finally fell out of favor and practically stopped being produced.

one thing is for sure. as long as people keep buying it, they'll keep making it.

  2. it will probably undergo numerous updates

  3. the usp is a beautiful gun. they will probably make like an upgrade to them eventually.

  4. Yes,unless people start to use ray guns or something new like that.

  5. Yes. The updated HK45 is a huge hit right now. 1911 styling, made by ex-Spec Ops Larry Vickers, .45ACP, etc.

  6. Q:  Do You Think that the HK USP will still be popular in 25-30 years?

A:  Consider that the 1911 design really is passé.  It is single-action on the first shot, lessor ammo capacity than other modern auto-loaders and the dubious grip-safety should have been eliminated or reconfigured long ago.  Still, it is a popular, enduring, solid, dependable handgun and so it lives on.  The H&K USP is a more modern design, has a superior external safety and it is higher ammo cap than the old 1911. So yes, I believe it too will endure the test of time.
