Question:

Do You Tip The Pizza Delivery Driver?

I'm tired of people saying they don't tip because they shouldn't have to and we are paid to do what we were hired to do. Yes we were hired to drive, and no we aren't promised a tip but if you dont tip your plain scum. I treat every person I deliver to with the uptmost respect and people still dont tip. We deliver lazy *** people 3-4 pizzas in snow, rain, hail, high winds, and other road conditions. We get out in very low and very high temperatures. We drive our own vehicles, use our own gas, and put ourselves in danger every time we leave our respective company. For all you people who don't tip think about how you would feel our situation. Dont be cheap skates. If you aren't going to tip don't order delivery. Companies that charge delivery fees dont even give it to the driver. I don't care if all you cheap people that dont tip only tip a dollar, thats atleast something for all the things we put ourselves through. Get over yourselves. Thanks.

  1. Yes.

www.tipping.org   says   $ 1  to  $  2   for a short distance,   more for  longer  distances.

I usually give a minimum of  20 %  to  25 % of the  total  cost of the  pizza.

  2. Yes.  My husband used to deliver pizza.

I believe the biggest reason for tipping a pizza driver is the wear and tear on your car.  Also, the fact that you are getting paid minimum wage to do one of the most dangerous jobs around in this country.

People use cell phones to order pizzas and lure drivers to fake addresses in remote areas in order to rob them and/or harm them.  IT's a risky career, and no one would deliver pizzas to you withoutthe tips...I'm talking to you selfish rant man...

People who don't tip their drivers are selfish lazy idiots who need to get their own pizza.

If u like getting ur pizza delivered to you, just remember, you might get a little spit in it the next time if ur a repeat customer who doesn't tip. My husband never did that, but it was in the news recently that a cook put his pubic hairs in a steak because the man sent it back to the cook...I wouldn't mess iwth the people who prepare and serve my food if it were me...

have fun with that all you non-tippers!!!

  3. Of course at least $5.00

  4. YES.   the driver is doing a service for all of the lazy or f-d up people out there...you're safe at home what about the driver

  5. yes you do you tip usually 3 to 5 dollars

  6. We tip our pizza guy because he  is always nice

He only drives 3 miles to get to us but after doing yard work all day and having to put the kids in a bath besides myself it just easy to pick up the phone and order the kids hurry up because they know pizza on it way and i get more then a 2 minute shower.

usually $3- 5 bucks as gas is 3.29 a gal where we r

and u need to get over it we appreciate your service but don t yell at us all

  7. Yup Sure do. Saves me the hassle of going out and getting it myself. Helps with their gas money, usually depends on how nice they are and how quick they get it to me, anywhere from 3 to 7 dollars for a tip, and more if its really bad weather, and i really am hungry.

  8. Actually, it depends on the weather and how much I am ordering.  If it is really bad weather I tip at least 10 bucks.  If it is warmer out probably 5 bucks and when we get a lot of stuff I give 20% of the total.

  9. i tip usually 3 or 4 bucks

  10. We always tip the delivery driver, they are provding a service to you.

  11. I always tip my pizza guy! Even though they don't have to drive too far to get to my house. I figure pizza delivery must not be the most high paying job in the world, and it keeps him happy and from spitting in my next pizza :) (and I don't order pizza delivered in weather that I wouldn't go out in!)

  12. yes. you dont have to but you can

  13. If the company who charges me 4 bucks to deliver ONE pizza doesn't give it to their driver.. then the driver should quit not ***** that he doesn't get it!

NO I do NOT tip a pizza guy if they charge me 15 bucks for a pizza and another 4-5 bucks for delivery to drive two blocks down the street!

First off.. I don't order pizza when its snowing.. because I do consider the driver and think that would be wrong to ask him to drive when I personally wouldn't. I don't care if you drive your own car.. because you can A. Use it for tax purposes. B. I have to use my own car to drive to client meetings and don't get gas why should you? C. Why would I give you a tip for doing your d**n job? You don't get 3 bucks an hour.. I don't feel sorry for your wage if you don't like get another job!

Now.. if I order more than a couple pizzas sure I will tip.. (which normally I would NEVER have more than 2 pizzas delivered for a freshness factor)  if I use my credit card I will typically round it up and throw a buck in. Is a buck not enough to drive less than 1-2 miles? Plenty of gas money if you ask me. Do I go out of my way to tip? No. Do I feel bad for it? No.

Do you tip the guy at McDonalds? Give me a break.. tips are earned. Do you think the guy who I give a good tip too goes back and gets me the CORRECT soda? or double checked my order before he left to make sure there wasn't any onions on my combo.. haha I think perhaps maybe three times in 10 years have I ever met any pizza delivery driver worthy of more than a buck for a tip.

So in response to your selfishness.. Get over YOURSELF!

Oh my in response to the whole "its a service" man you all better start tipping your doctor.. your nurse... the dentist, the receptionist who makes your appointment. It's all a service! what a stupid reason!

  14. i tip about $3 for a pizza

if you don't like it get a new job :)

  15. I always do :) They are providing me a service. I can stay at home and don't have to worry about going out. Although 99% of the time I always pick it up anyways.

When I do get delivery it's usually when I have a couple friends over and I don't want to leave them to get the pizza. I will tip 20% of the bill if it's over 20. If it's under 20 I will just give them a 20 and tell them to keep the change.

However, if it is bad weather I never will get delivery. If I don't want to put my life in jeopardy, I am sure not going to put an innocent persons life in jeopardy either!

  16. u should. give at least a dolla

  17. Yes.

  18. i usually don't wanna tip..but then i feel guilty so i give like 2 bucks or something....although i did ask what this one guy wanted for tip...he said 5 bucks..so i gave in.....never do that again!

  19. At least 10 percent of the total.
