watching golf is either dramatic or boring, depending on who's playing and the quality of the play. watching amateurs is painful, watching mickleson plug another 3rd day lead is amazing.

to me, playing golf is a form of exercise: boring, and somewhat painful.

i like computer game golf, but after a while it's all mechanical. once you figure out the optimal timing, it's pretty boring. you can get the max score every single time you play.

imho, i think the best part about golf is shopping for golf stuff.

I don't mind watching golf on tv. lol I get into it and its relaxing. I guess it all really depends on if you like the game or not.

If you play and enjoy golf, both are fun...I just played this morning and it was great...I love watching it on TV too...it's real cool to go watch the pros play in person as well..

Obviously you don't have the bug!  I find golf on TV, unless it's a major tournament or has a lot of excitement due to a playoff or Tiger's hit some stupendous shot that no one expected, or any tournament with an underwear cam of Natalie Gulbis, can be boring.

However, playing golf is great!  Outside, not at a desk.  Subject to the elements.  No perfection.  A sport you can't blame anyone but yourself for mistakes.  The feel of a perfect shot as it arches into the sky and lands where you want it to.  The intelligence, planning and then execution of a trouble shot (around, under or over a tree, over a hazard).  The thrill of a 40' putt, that breaks and curves and tantalizingly drops into the cup for a birdie or saving par.  The humor of sharing a joke with your buddies.  The satisfaction of taking a couple of dollars off those same buddies on a bet.  The beauty of playing a seaside or island course, or one in the mountains, or one in the desert, or..........any number of locations.  The enjoyment of sharing a past time with your significant other at a sport (when not many sports allow men and women to share a common activity).  Gosh, darn it..........there are a myriad of reasons to enjoy the playing of the sport.

Golf is fun to play, slightly boring to watch on TV, unless Tiger is in the field.

I golf once or twice on the weekends and go to the range perhaps once during the weekday.

It's a challenging game, not to mention a fun exercise.

Since you enjoy playing I guess you know that golf is one of the hardest sports out there. I used to hate watching it but last year I watched the Masters tournament and realized that there was a lot more to golf than I ever imagined. If you ever get a chance to watch the final day of last years Master's make sure you watch it. It intrigued me so much that i actually went and watched it live in Chicago. I can't remember what the tournament was calle (Ford classic I think) and I watched Vijay and some other guy for one hole. I still can't believe how good they are. I only watched them for one hole because I felt out of place. I didn't like being in a place where everyone holds their chins up like robots. I will only like golf on the final day of any tournament and the leader and second place are fighting for victory all day. Its only interesting the last day sitting at home with a cold one.

I love to play golf.  I can watch it on TV too.  Anyone who loves golf should love watching it because all golfers are trying to improve as golfers, so why not watch the best golfers in the world to learn from?  This includes females.

Playing is very stressful for me but I think that is why I love playing.  I also love to watch it on TV.  Great, great game!!

absolutely boring to watch!!! nothing on tv is worse. and playable when you have nothing else to do and you are on the edge of commiting suicide i guess it will do in that situation :)
