In the wake of the DNC, it appears as though Mr. McCain seems to have found a reason to "tone down" his convention. Is it because he has been upstaged? Is it because he has realized he has made a serious blunder in his choice for a running mate and is attempting to "shore" up what limited experience she has? What are your thoughts?

  1. No- his reason is that he is not an elitist snob and is actualy concerned about the middle class

  2. No. I think that he said it very well. We need to be concerned more with the people of the area where the storm is about to hit rather than playing politics!

  3. Could they ever raise the monies required to match the Dems pageant in Denver? Its a neat way of not having to explain why the Pres. and VP won't be at the convention. But the funniest aspect is that Denver's weather prayers have shown up late and at the wrong convention. It gives the media less opportunity to vent Palin. And, lastly, McCain needs the rest.

  4. Yes, his VP choice is highly subjective.  BUT,  right now he IS doing the right thing by temporarily setting aside the party politics by asking Americans to be prepared to help and assist those who may be heavily affected by the  disastrous hurricane coming their way.

That's a whole lot  more important right now, right?

  5. He is trying to show he cares. He does not want to be seen as an uncaring incompetent the way Bush showed himself to be after Katrina.

This is not a Republican thing. It is a politician thing. No politician wants to be seen as anything remotely like Bush.

  6. Some of the answers above are just plain frightening.  In what world is it logical to play down your own party when the only way to get elected is to win a popularity contest? It is not possible to be upstaged if you haven't been onstage yet.   How does a hurricane shore up Palin's experience?

  7. No, and he has stated why.  Read the news.
