He is so good when he has to be. For the past two years his performance in the chase has been unmatched. I think if comes in the chase 12th in the points, he is still a huge threat to win it.

  1. For those saying the 48 team his holding back you're NASCAR knowledge is very limited.  Not even JJ will accept just driving around practicing instead of going for the win.  The chase is too hard to predict because some drivers will opt for good points days will others could wreck going for the win.

  2. I can see others beating him, but they will have to step it up if history repeats itself. I know Kyle is on top for now but, I do not see his luck and style of driving winning him the cup this year.

I would pick Jr, Jeff/ Gordon or Burton, Tony or even Bowyer.

  3. About ten other drivers.

  4. Jimmys old news   Hes slow

    No one can beat Kyle

  5. Yes, Jeff Burton will beat him this year. And possible Harvick and Bowyer too!  Go RCR!

  6. Jr. will beat him and Kyle and the rest of the NASCAR field

  7. I think that anyone can beat Johnson in the chase cause he isn't having the year he had last year and the best hendrick driver in the points right now is Earnhardt jr. but i think guys like Edwrads, Kyle Busch, Biffle can beat him.

  8. yes

  9. Jimmie Johnson is an awesome driver. I would say him and Tony Stewart are pretty equal in driving talent.

  10. Sure he can be beat there is no such thing as being unbeatable not just in NASCAR but in any other sport. For the Chase a driver and team must be on the same page and clicking extremely well to have a chance to compete for the title. The 48 has been the best at that ever since they started in 2002. That said this year HMS is "behind" so to speak as compared to the Roush, Gibbs and RCR cars. Johnson has been up and down all year but when the Chase comes you can bet the 48 will be right in the hunt for another championship. The favorites for the Chase right now are Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

  11. Yea Someone Can I think It will Be Jeff Burton or JR or any of the  Childress cars

  12. so far 5 people are beating him

  13. Well I can only hope so because Jimmie is the Obama of this nascar season...will be there and may be unbeatable but one can still hope.

  14. Jeff Gordon can & will

  15. Johnson races hard in the chase, there is no doubt about that. But yeah, he can be beaten. He is not God, just a d**n good driver.

  16. Uh...Yeah!  Anybody can beat him right now.  It is a long way to the chase, wait and see.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  17. chad and jimmy both have been very forthcoming in stating that they spend much of the first part of the year "preparing" for the chase - much more so than gordon even, as was apparent last year.  so once he gets in and the chase begins, look out.  having more wins (and thus more bonus points) will mean nothing once the 48 team hunkers down. having watched and listened to chad knaus, i wouldn't be surprised if they weren't holding back and not showing their hand right now so as to catch everyone off-guard come chase time.

but i think nearly any of the teams in the top 12 right now (and a couple outside it as well) have a good to fair shot at him.  kyle busch, edwards, stewart, gordon, and junior (not to mention the rcr boys - especially burton and harvick) can all do it if the chips fall their way.
