I have friend that have been legal in states for 6 months and when she dump her American husband she became illegal immigrant....can she be a legal again if she marry a American citizen?

Technically yes. but the US Immigration Service will evaluate the couples relationship and evaluate it's validity. She will also have to stay married for a certain number of years in order to achieve citizenship.

If at any time the Immigration Service finds the marriage a sham, she will most likely be deported....

No,marriage is no guarantee and they are really checking people out. Your friend should go back to her own country before she gets thrown out and banned.

yes, but she will have to pay a hefty "pardon" fine and very likely, leave the country for at least a year. not to mention you would really have to provide evidence of premarital relationship, lots of letters and phone calls.

There's no way for an illegal alien to gain citizenship through marriage.  She must return to her home country or be deported.  And since she dumped her first American husband so quickly, she is likely flagged for marriage fraud/immigration fraud investigation.  Marrying someone else will definitely get her into major legal difficulties.  The sooner she returns home, the better -- and the shorter the potential bar to re-entry.

not immediatley there is still plenty of paperwork to be done and even tho it is a lot faster and easier its still not an immediate citizenship
