Do a lot of young people listen to US99 (WUSN - Chicago)?

I always see this come up with "the word/phrase of the day" (but people forget to put the city and or call letters up.) lol.

How popular IS this station in Chicago? Is it high in the Nielsen ratings? Are they current country? (as in Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood?)

The station plays mostly modern hit country music with some country oldies thrown in. Country is the 4th-6th most popular format in the US among persons 18+. The demographic appeal as measured by Arbitron (not Nieilson - they're TV) is older than say Hip-Hop, Rap or Alternative. But it is a very strong format and enjoyed by many people. Including the owners who make a good deal of money with the format.

WUSN in Chicago is consistently rated in the bottom of the top-10 with about 3%-3.5% of total listening. Not bad considering there are about 30 viable stations in Chicago - the third largest city in America. Obviously there are more country-friendly cities in the US including many where country is No. 1 - Riverside-San Bernadino is probably the biggest of those cities.
