Compounds containing weakly-coordinating cations such as Na+ and K+, and basic anions, are less soluble in base and more soluble in acid than they are in water. Since dissolving salts containing highly-charged or more strongly coordinating cations, such as Al3+, and neutral anions in water gives an acidic solution, can we expect that such salts are less soluble in acidic solution and more soluble in basic solution than in pure water?
