Do foods like grapefruit, pineapple, oranges, and lemons speed up your digestion? If I were to eat a steak that normally takes 5 hours to digest, with a grapefruit or a few slices of pineapple, would it take a lot less time to digest?

  1. All sweet things will help your digestion - so will sweet fruits.

The fruit are not acidy enough to actually help digest the meat - the ph value of your stomac-acid is about 4.

But the fibers in the fruit will help clean out your intestines.
