I'm trying to decide which case I should get for my acoustic-electric from musiciansfriend.com, but I can't find an acoustic-electric case that's a reasonable price. Do acoustic guitar cases fit acoustic-electric guitars?

  1. i had the same issue jeremy when i bought a talmen acoustic electric from musicians friend , the best way in my opinion to get around this is buy a good quailty GIGBAG , i see them online there now for 30 bucks upwards , the only time this will go against you is if you want to ship the guitar , but a gigbag is the best way to go , if its something popular like ovation or fender try SKB.COM they sell a wide variety of hard cases for all makes and they are very cheap , good luck

  2. sometimes / i have an ovation that has a rounded back  it has a special made case . but a  a flat   back   check the body size first would   be ok. remember a case is the life  of a guitar . so dont go  without one . good luck

  3. it should fit.

  4. An acoustic-electric guitar is simply an acoustic guitar with a small pickup and pre-amplifier built into the structure.

So, the simple answer to your question is "Yes!"  If you are buying a good quality (read expensive) guitar, then protect it with a good quality durable case.  Since there are all sorts and sizes of acoustic guitars make certain that the case actually fits your guitar.  If it doesn't fit properly it can move about when transporting it and there is the potential for damage. If you're not worried, get a gig bag - which keeps it clean but doesn't really protect your guitar as a hard-shell case can do.

  5. they are both the same size guitars,,,,,,, if you value your guitar, you will get a good paded hard case,,i paid 110 dollars for mine..

  6. Yes, unless the acoustic/electric is very unusually shaped.
