  1. yes acting classes defiantly help. not only do they help you improve on your acting skills but they also help you understand the business and help grow as a person overall.

  2. Yes greatly. There more likely to hire somone with experince then someone who knows nothing. All acting classes help, just make sure there good onces and worth your money!

  3. In a general sense NO education is strictly BAD, though so often EXPERIENCE is an equal teacher.

YOU, need to question them, about what YOU get for the $$$, and then determine the worth of it.

Even a Masters in Theater will not guarantee a star on the walk of fame, or a walk on the Red carpet, or that Trophy held up at the Oscars, Emmy's, Tony's, etc.

A prime issue in being theatrically educated, might be in what one learns about the Tech aspects of theater, even to a production standpoint. NO ONE on stage or Film, is there without a staff making it happen.

Obviously for a total novice, with little or no concept of what's involved, the $200 might be the best, least expense you ever put forth. YOUR issue is to research/investigate the school and any level of success rate, testimonials from students past and present, their general credibility and associations with valid theater/film organizations, any THINGS they suggest or vaguely promise such as YESSSSSSSS YOU WILL BE ALL YOU WANNA BE.

So much of the craft is WORK, and Film can be extremely tedious, and time consuming, IE: A 2 minute shot could have you sitting on a set for 8 hours.

HELP is probably a relative, subjective and opinionated word, in this case, but YOU should get busy on homework, before taking money, possibly better spent, and handing it over to ANY SCHOOL.

  4. I think that sounds great! Good luck!

  5. Only if the instructor has a history worthy of such fees. If they have directed big productions which have stars or been in a movie of note or or have received REAL theater awards (Sorry, but The Zachary Schlepp Inspired Performance Award for Brilliance in Little Rock Arkansas doesn't warrant $200.00 per student!!!).

A lousy unaccredited teacher can ruin an artist much faster than a self-destructive wannabe could achieve on their own.

Do research because as a beginner you are going to be scammed for money at every turn.

  6. I think acting classes help a lot. I have been acting for about 4 1/2 years now, and my acting classes REALLY helped. It will help you on so many levels, and will help give you a deeper perspective on your character. I think if you have the money you should totally go for it!

Good luck on your acting career!
