  1. There are several versions of Active Ankles, and you want to get "T2".

They work for me, and I have never got injured again after getting my T2.

I have stepped on some feet when coming down from blocking, but my ankle only had slight "pain-like feel" and it went away in about two minutes. Without AA, I would probably have to stay at home for another 3-4 months.

    Yes, I mean REALLY.

  2. th best thing to do is walk on it and make sure it doesnt fall asleep if u no what that means like when it feels funny or rest it whic one

  3. once i sprained my ankle so bad it looked like it was broken. I have worn active ankles since then and havent had anymore problems. I land on hitters that go under the net all the time, but My ankles are safe!

  4. If you got injured wearing them, then it's possible you are not wearing them right or you have cheap imitations.

They do work for rehabilitation and prevention. Like I said elsewhere, I've worn them for extended periods of time and I love the support and I was able to play when I had pain because the AAs do limit your ankle from moving in dangerous ways. They've saved my ankles more than a few times playing with inexperienced people blocking me and coming under the net. I've come down on their feet and fall to the ground instead of spraining or breaking my ankle.

I've heard of injured knees if anything, because when you limit movement in your ankle, the next joint to counter a collapse is the knee. Countering a full body collapse is almost always the reason people get sprained ankles. If you let your body collapse when you start to feel your ankle give way, the injury will not be so severe. We humans have a habit of needing to walk upright, our brains freak out and try to keep us upright when we start to fall and Bam! Sprain.

I haven't worn active ankles in almost 3 years, but I refuse to play with really inexperienced people anymore (I hate to sound elitist, but those that play volleyball at anything more than a beginner level know exactly what I'm talking about). If I did, I would go back to wearing them.

  5. Active ankles work for prevention, but if you're spraining your ankle wearing them, you need to visit your athletic trainer or have your coach get you some rehab exercises.  The best thing to do to protect your ankle and your foot is to do strength training.  This will prevent sprains and other strains by keeping everything relatively stable all the way around.  Injuries do happen in sports, and if you don't take care of them properly, they'll haunt you for the rest of your life.  Better to be playing catch up in track than to be done all together.

  6. All of you need to properly rehab your ankles and stop relying on braces, there is absolutely no reason to have to wear a brace for more then a few months and that's only if you are coming off a major surgery. You need to correct your biomechanics and strengthen the ankles. All kinds of braces will just make the ankle weaker.

  7. The fact that your ankle's only sprained tells you that they do work. Active ankles don't completely keep you from spraining or turning ankle, but they will prevent major injury. I've seen on more that one occasion someone come under the net during a block and dislocate the the other person foot from their ankle socket. They were not wearing an active ankle and it took them over a  year and one surgery to be able to walk normal let alone play.

Someone earlier mentioned cheap imitations of active ankles and I've see off brands that still do the same job. I recommend them for basketball, soccer, and softball players as well.

    Volleyball forever everyone.
