Our agency has a really old one and we are debating whether we should revamp it or not.

  2. There is an old adage in the advertising business that says "You are only as good as your last campaign." I personally believe that an agency's portfolio is their "product." If you aren't proud of the product you produce (and thereby strides to keep it current), I think it sends a message to clients and prospective clients. You never know when a client will ask to see examples of past work. And even though JPEGS and PDFs and online portfolios have somewhat made hard case portfolios a thing of the past, you will always have a client who will want to see and hold your work in his hands.

To be forthcoming, my opinion is based on 16 years experience as a creative director, so I'm a firm believer in championing the creative work.
