Do adults get lice at all?

My mom thinks that adults can't get them, can they, why might she think this?

Yes they can, head lice and pubic lice like everyone else. Unless adults have really dirty hair, lice prefer clean hair (not to say being dirty will keep you from getting lice). I have no idea why she would think something so ridiculous.

My kids were in a play, and the costumes were infested, and some of the adult actors got them!

She probably thinks that because kids tend to get them more since they spread at schools. But adults definitely can get them!
