Do adults handle alcohol better children and teenagers?

  1. Yes they have more tolerance, but more than that they have the maturity to (sometimes) know when they have had enough to drink.

    Children not only cannot handle alcohol they do not have the maturity to understand when they are to drunk to drive. Especially when you involve peer pressure.And other situations.  


  2. Yes, for several reasons. First would be body mass. Adults are larger and can metabolize alchohol at a greater rate than their younger and smaller counterparts. Adults are more likely to have experience drinking and have the possibility of having built up a tolerance. A person who drinks more often has a higher level of functioning capability under the influence than someone who has not built up a tolerance.

    Another reason would be that humans brains are not fully formed until their early twenties and alcohol has been proven to stunt development in higher brain functions. Hope this helps
