Do adults make new friends after high school or do they stay in the same group?

Out of people from my high school, most have made new friendships since that time (over 10 years ago) & kept in touch with a couple of people. But, a few are still hanging out with only people that they went to high school with. Is it the norm to do this?

  1. if they are real friends why wouldnt you still talk to them i still talk to a few friends i went to elementary with

  2. I talk to one person from high school on a daily basis.

    I graduated three years ago.

I think in high school that I had about a group of 10 or so friends.

In college, I thought I made friends. But I only talk to my roommate from freshman year.

So... I rarely speak to anyone besides my h.s. friend.  And my husband.

  3. To still hang out with your high school buddies after 10 years is a rarity for sure. Not unheard of, but far from common.

Most people go to college and make new lifelong friends there though. If you don't go to college you are generally more likely to stay close with HS friends.
