  1. Yes, you have to have a lap baby to buy only a seat for yourself. In other words, unless the toddler is carried 100 percent of the time and on your lap the entire flight, you will have to pay for another seat.

  2. Wow, it's amazing how much nonsense gets posted here. But some people have it right. The answer is yes.

  3. yep... you'll have to pay the full amount of the fare or check the airline if they have child fare..

airlines would only allow 24 months old for a lap child and you will still pay the tax for the child.. if it's 26 months old, you'll have to pay for it..

  4. if he can sit in your lap the whole flight, no. otherwise, you have to pay for his seat.

  5. no bcoz my cousin went to Jamaica for free they sat on my aunt and uncle they get this cute little belt :)

  6. i travelled to jamaica with my daughter and found that you have to pay child fare for 2+ and for infants most of the time you pay 20% of the fare.

  7. yes you have to pay $50 for him to sit next to you in his car seat but you'll have to pay $15 to sit on your lap also the same thing with dogs

  8. If the childs wants his own seat on the plane - then yes.  They will charge the same airfare you are paying...............

  9. under two is free and you must hold them on your lap.

any older is full price. they charge by the seat, not age.

  10. Here's the correct answer.

On domestic flights, children under the age of two can travel for free if you carry the child on your lap. That's a very poor idea from a safety standpoint, but, incredibly, the FAA and the airlines allow it. You must purchase a ticket for children who are over two. The airline can require that you show proof of age.

On international flights, children under the age of two pay 10% of the fare and have to sit on your lap. You must purchase a ticket at normal price for children who are over two.

  11. Once the child turns 2, you have to pay for a seat, so unfortunately, you will need a ticket for your son
