I am flying Airtran from Atlanta to Los Angeles. My seat on the flight is not confirmed yet. This being the last flight of the day, if missed, I will have to fly next day. In this regard, should AirTran accommodate or arrange for my night stay in case I miss this flight?

  1. It depends on the reason you miss the flight.

Let's say the airline overbooked the flight, and has to do the involuntary bump.  In that case, you will be rebooked and provided compensation as provided by law...    You can use that compensation towards a hotel room or whatever you need.  They may also ask people to delay voluntarily and you can possibly negotiate a room out of that if it looks like bumps are a possibility.

There is a difference between no confirmed seat and flying standby.  if you are in effect flying standby (would have to see your res), and you cannot get a spot because the plane is full, you will get no compensation or hotel..

  2. Airlines are charging for blankets, luggage, soft drinks and you want them to put you up for a night.......right........Cinderella will pick you up in her punkin...

  3. if your seat isn't a confirmed seat they will not accomadate you but they would if you were a paying passenger unless you missed your flight because of your own mistake

  4. if your seat is not confirmed, you are on your own for accommodations!
