Of course they do, I've done the job in three London airports and consider myself to have a great sense of humour.

The ones who have answered no have either had a bad experience, maybe caused by the airline or their ignorance of the strict security rules.

Try to remember they are responsible for the lives of thousands of passengers on a daily basis, so humour is kept in it's proper perspective.

Some do Once one was patting me down on the inside of my leg with the back of his hand I told him ''I don't ever know you name Do you like gladiator movie'' Did not smile told me to go sit in the ''smart as# chair''  I started to walk across the room like a melded candle,Than patted me on the back and gave me a big smile

Just the same as anyone else,you could work there.But they really do have some unbelievable oafs,yobs and idiots to deal with.It can make you a bit down when you see the planks they have to deal with.They cannot relax with todays problems,they have to stay on the ball.

yea one time i joked i had a bomb on me and they jokingly had two big men pull me to this little room and pull all my clothes off and give me a strip search, lol, those silly guys.  then when i didnt have a bomb on me they still made me stay with them for like 24 hours and called the cops and everything and went through all my stuff, haha it was a great gag.

Quite a strange sense of humour.  If you complain about how long you've had to wait and how pointless the whole exercise is, they don't think it's funny at all.  But suggest you might be a terrorist and they'll take you into a secure room, undress you and then photograph you lying face down with a plastic daffodil sticking out of your bum.  They think that's hilarious.
