Do aliens really exist, or are we afraid to be alone in our universe?

It seems to me, that in the universe, life is a fluke. Kind of like baking an apple pie.

You have to follow a recipe to get the end result, and you have to have the right temperature's, etc.

I'm not arguing that there COULDN'T be extraterrestial life, but it just seems like the planet to life ratio would be next to none.

Maybe 1 out of 1 thousand planets? Maybe 1 out of 1 million?

Maybe...................one?

  1. The total planets to planets able to support life ratio is a few hundred to one, for planets we know about so far. But there are probably trillions of undiscovered planets out there, and by chance SOME of them must have conditions of temperature and composition to be at least potentially able to support life. And scientists cannot find any reason that life would not arise on a planets with the right conditions. Intelligent life may be another matter though. We just don't know. Any statement made about intelligent life on other planets is an extrapolation from one point, which is no better than a random guess.

  2. realistically

    ET life is very probable

since there might be a trillion galaxies with a trillion starts in each and trillion planets in each one of those

thats enough for it to be probable since it did happen on this (our) planet

  3. i beleive in aliens grealy.id say that thers a one in 1000 chance becouse weve found 1000 planes and only one has life on it.besides how could it be that on just one minor gallaxy in one minor star system and one minor planet be the only life out ther at all.besides no one ever looked in another gallaxy besides r own/we canttho so realy but watever.theyll find life out ther eventuolly ihope.and that doesent make god not real if ther is becouse he never said he maid only us. and the part about the heavens in the bible that part was meaning by all the planets around r sun.not just everythang.

  4. I really don't think so becuase if we follow the goldilocks principle too hot too cold ust right... you know there are not that many but there is a thing  callef the Drake Equsion and it caculates the ratio of life in the Universe. Serch for it on Google.

  5. Maybe we are the aliens

  6. Statistically, there have to be a load of other planets out there, when you think of the size of the universe and all the stars and planets out there, that support life. Plus, life woudln't neciserily have to be carbon-based. There was an article in the New Scientist a last year on how ET could be silicon-based etc. due to similarities to carbon....Plus, whilst certain temperatures are needed, just look at the range on this planet, so it's not quite as precise as you think.

  7. The Universe is infinite so it is very likely that there are many many planets out there just like Earth. Maybe even more of you if the planets happened to evolve in the same way Earth did. Infinity is very big.

  8. we're afraid to be alone..... afraid to have to face the possibility that random chance brought us out of the primordial soup and that it was a once -in-a-Universe's time span happening..... we don't want to be unique.... an 'only child'.... we want playmates..... yet our religions say we're ''special'' and say nothing about a god  making other planets with life.... not even a hint....

we are alone... this is it, folks... just us..... is that so terrible?

  9. who knows... we could just be inventing aliens for ourselves cuz we feel there has to be more to the universe then just one planet full of life. but it could be that there really are aliens out there and we will never know for sure until technology advances to the point of intersteller travel. with all the planets out there, there is a possibilty of life... but just because the temperture of this planet varies in some parts doesnt mean that temp is not important... if were just a little closer to the sun we would burn up and if we were a little farther we would freeze. there is bound to be a planet somewhere though that is just right besides ours.

  10. There are aliens, because I am one! Hi Earthlings, I come from the Andromeda Galaxy!! We exist we just don't want to be detected. So stop sending us junk mail!! Goop,Goop.
