  1. No of course not no more then all Americans can speak proper English

What do you call some one who can speak 2 languages?..Bilingual

What do you call some one who can speak three languages?..Trilingual

What do you call some one who only speaks one language?.................................. American *wink*

  2. Of course not, but they have to learn it at school. This is mandatory.  The same with French speaking poeple whom MUST learn German as a secon language.

    But it is very basic.

People living in metro areas may be bi-lingual, but  people living in small towns in the Alps, don't.

Born and raise in Geneva, live in L.A.,  I had to learn German, but I can just get by if needed. And Swytzerdutsh (German dialect spoken in Switzerland), not nice to you ears.

  3. No.

  4. I studdied and lived in Germany for 2 yrs with my family and my teacher who was swiss could speak french, but that doesn't mean they all can, I can't speak french but can speak swiss. so the answer is no.

  5. anyone who went to school here learned french, but the swiss germans don't like speaking it, usually they'll end up speaking english!

  6. I haven't come across very many who can't speak French at all, but I also haven't come across many who wouldn't rather speak English than French.

They have to learn French at school, but after that a lot of them seem to dump it entirely. My daughter's teacher's French is not particulary good...so that's part of the problem right there...

  7. Many do but not all of course. But also in the german speaking part eg in shops products are explained in french and italian.

  8. hi angelo, not all of them can speak french
