  1. No, not all. But many do.

  2. some are fairer, some olive and others brown if you looked at greek sculptures you'd also see that they had curly/wavy hair which was the characteristic of the greeks and other mediterranian people there are exceptions in every race though just an observation :)

  3. I can't remember how many times there has been a similar question about Greek skin and it's color or about Greek ...hair, it is extremely boring.

No, not all the Greeks have dark skin, of course they are not as blond as Germans!

    IT IS JUST ANOTHER STEREOTYPE.

Many are dark skinned, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEONE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS OR WHY HAVING DARK SKIN COULD BE REMARKABLE FOR A COUNTRY THAT HAS EXTREME HEAT AND SUNSHINE. Is it more 'western', more beautiful or looks 'cleaner' having light skin and blond hair?

Example: my brother is very dark skinned, but he is tall and very handsome. My husband and my daughter have very light skin and quite light brown hair, that gets browner at summer, while I am somewhere in the middle, getting darker at summer and very light (skin) at winter and having healthy, long, beautiful, BLACK hair. ;-)

Of course, vre Xristina, it's not you the one, who implies that having dark skin is a shame, not even the asker implies that. But many times have been posted to the Greek section questions about the skin,by sometimes, malevolent people.

HOW CARES IF SPANISH PEOPLE IS DARK SKINNED (I mean rarely somebody asks)?...

  4. Stereotype!!! ...well lets see i got orange skin with purple dots.with bright bright ..green hair ....ohh yes and my teeth are red......is that stereotype enough for you?

  5. No,but some of them yes,and I do like olive skin in man, this tanned skin is better than the blonde-freckled one.....

    Type :nikos Papadakis.

Mister World 1996.....You ll see ;)

  6. It's  a stereotype. My skin is very white, for example.

Zoi, I amnot saying this is a good or bad thing. That's just how it is. My husband's skin is dark and he's gorgeous.

  7. Just a stereotype,a lot of ppl i know have fair skin and personally I'm really white, kinda pale!!

    Btw I'm Greek!!;)

  8. Its a stereotype. Not all Greeks have olive skin, there are many who are fair. Some exampels the Greeks below are not olive skinned.

Who thumb me down and why?

Eimai Ellhnas re, I am Greek father and mother from Thessaloniki,100%. My father and grandmother used to be more blond than me.

Someone doesn't like that fact, I see...

  10. It's a stereotype.... There are many light skinned people and others with dark skin..

  11. Not only that, but we also wear togas for clothing and we live in rock houses, worshiping Zeus and drinking wine only (on a ratio 1/3 to water)

    :-)

Seriously now, its only a stereotype.

Take me for example, I am more light skinned than most North Europeans.

While I was visiting USA (some years ago) no one believed I am Greek and most people thought I was at least German (...if not Swedish or Danish).

And I am not even blond!
