Do all LCD TVs have three prong (grounded) power plugs?

My current crt hdtv has only a two prong, do all LCDs have three prong plugs? My apartment only has two prong power outlets. Would using an adapter and unplugging the lcd when it's not in use be a sufficient or would using an adapter void the warranty if something should happen?

  1. I do believe all of them do use the grounded plug.  For best results, if you have a friend who is an electrician, ask them if you can get a deal for installing a grounded plug.

For a cheaper and easier solution, look into surge protectors that support ungrounded electrical connections, and just be aware.

For most LCD TV's, you're probably spending enough to justify installing a grounded plug.  Also, check with the landlord first, and you never know, you might be able to have such an improvement taken off your rent for a month, or a portion of the cost.
