  1. really depends on what species it is

Some plecos such as the bristlenose pleco will be 6 inches and less

while the common pleco can easily outgrow the 12 inch mark.

but the smallest species of plecos usually needs a 25 gallons and up. Will need a WAY bigger tank!

  2. Essentially, every type of pleco that is purchased at a pet store will get quite big (around 8-10 inches).  So, plan accordingly.

  3. depends on your type of pleco...

Bristlenose Plecos only get to be around 5 inches

but thats probably one of the smallest plecos...

  4. hehe they grow up to 2 feet long

  5. pit bull plecos are the smallest and nicest they are blue and get 2in. long.

  6. Yes plecos get big. 10" easily. Take them back ;-)

the reason your last ones only got a little bit bigger is because you had them crammed in a small tank.  The bigger the tank, the better chance of it growing to its full potential which is the right thing to do. Think of it like this...if you were crammed in a 4ft by 4ft closet for the rest of your life, you wouldnt have much room to grow, therefore your growth would be stunted and you wouldnt be as healthy as you should be.  Also, plecos are kinda messy. Big poopers is the best way I can describe...they will dirty up a small tank in no time.  So unless you have a 55gallon tank, TAKE THEM BACK

  7. bristlenose plecos stay small

  8. Plecostimous can get to about 10-12 inches long depending on the fish itself. They don't always live to that length though.

  9. It will take them a few years to get huge...

  10. Yes, ALL PLECOS becomes REALLY huge after a few years EXCEPT for Bristlenose Plecos... they are really tiny.. at most grow up till 2 inches, THAT's the most..haha

I own many of them with my betta...

    They live happily ever after

  11. yes all of them do....I am guessing you are asking this regaaurding the answers you got from your previous question aboutstocking your 5 gallon haha I recognized your picture! Anyway if you are wanting to get rid of them I would suggest going to your local fish store (not a chain like petsmart or petco) and asking if they want them. My local fish stire will take unwanted fish so yours might too! Good luck!

  12. Yes all common plecos get big they get from 1-2 feet in length. The are little version of plecos called ottos that only get about 3-5 inches. Though from your previous question they will not fit in your 5 gallon I'm sorry to say. You just need a bigger tank!
