Question:

Do all X-factor contestants get to meet simon cowell et al?

The opening credits to the show say 180,000 applicants are seen by the judges. Mathematically, if auditions last 6 months (assuming 30 days per month, working 12 hours a day every day non stop) this leaves only 60 seconds or so for each contestant at best. When you consider the judges don't work solid 12 hour days for six months you have to assume this isn't quite correct - does anyone know?

  1. I shouldn't think so.

  2. They have a team of researchers who carry out the auditions around the country.

Simon and his team attend one or two just so some film of them can be shot and edited into the programmes.

    .

  3. Yes, unless he walks out half way through!

  4. To get to see the judges you have to go through 2 other auditions (where you get judged by someone else). So those people you see on TV have already been let through auditions already just to get there. It's edited really badly too. They have to sing TWO songs (the show shows them singing a line or two!). I think it was last year it was mentioned each audition takes about 10mins. How that can be right I really don't know. Think of the amount of people that turn up. You'd be sat in a waiting room for weeks.

  5. Yeah not everyone gets to see the judges :(

First they go through a audition with some other judges dont know who, then they select if they should go through to Simon et al!  So basically if theyre really good or really c**p (entertainment) then theyl get through!!  So on the TV when you see all those thousands of people not even half would get through to Simon and them!  Same for Britains Got Talent!  You have about 2 audition prior to meeting Simon et al on that!

    Hope ive helped!

  6. maruzen as hit the nail on the head.

  7. No.  All contestants are screened first.  That means the bad ones are only put in front of the judges for viewer entertainment.  Many, many acts that are far better never get in front of the judges.

  8. Not all x factor contestants are seen by the 'celebrity judges'.

They are first screened by a panel of judges who aren't famous, who decide if they are good enough (or funny enough) to perform in front of simon etc. It's all a sham.

  9. offcourse they don't, they have a team of people who listen to everyone first and they decide if your good enough (or bad enough) to go through to the judges, the ones that are really bad are only put through for entertainement purposes,

  10. One of my friends went to the first stage audition, and she said that the researchers don't even ask to hear you sing. They split you into groups of about ten and pick out three or four people based on looks alone.

  11. No as there is far to many for them the ones we see go through an illimination period of three time with other people the judges see the best and obvious a few bad to make it intresting for us viewers.

  12. They go to a first audition in front of a production crew.....only the very good or the very bad get through to the live auditions with the judges.  It makes good tv I suppose but also gives the really poor acts alot of confidence that they may be good - only to be knocked down by the judges.

  13. I KNOW SOMEONE THAT AUDITIONED AND THEY SEE ANOTHER PANEL OF PEOPLE FIRST AND THEY DECIDE WHETHER THEY GO THROUGH TO SEE SIMON COWELL ET AL
