  1. There are many different opportunities once you finish training (by which time you are about 30 years old).

I'm an independent contractor, so I can take off as much time as I want.  However, if I don't work, I don't earn any money, but the expenses continue.

Many of my colleagues work 60 hour weeks.  Some work part time, maybe 24 hours a week.  What you gain in lifestyle, you lose in income.

So the answer is no, not all of us work long hours.  Some do, some don't.

  2. They may work long hours on the days they work,  but as independent contractors or as members of a group  they can pretty well set how much they want to work.   If they have a large enough group,  they can get 2-3 MONTHS of vacation a year,  not including their regular days off.

  3. It depends.  It is a field where you can do what you want if you position yourself correctly.
