  1. Hi,

You didn't say how old your baby was, but even from newborn they are very clever at wrapping you round their little finger.

I'm a mum of 5 who were all very different as babies but I found the best way of settling mine was to have the half hour before their nap or bedtime as a quiet time - maybe wrap them in a blanket and give a cuddle or sing to them.  When bedtime comes, if he or she starts to fuss go in and settle them again, trying not to speak or make a fuss as babies soon get to learn that if they make a fuss they get a reaction and maybe get to come out of bed, I've done that one myself.

Try to leave it a little longer each time before going into the bedroom and gradually baby will get used to the idea that bed = sleep.

    Good Luck.

    Karen

  2. LOL LOL...YES my boyfriends little girl is so used to her mommy comeing in and getting her up when she gets fussy. So when she come's here we lay her down in her crib and she fusses really loud. But we found a way to calm her down along with my son. We got a small tv and a dvd player and bought some barney, elmo, and bob the builder dvd's for them to watch If you have a old tv and a extra dvd player there not that much for a small one at walmart you can play soothing cd's also if your baby is small it work's for us and I am telling you it's the best thing we have done for both of our kids...Nicole.

  3. My son always did, for a few minutes.  My daughter never did, she would babble herself to sleep.

  4. Establish regular nap and bedtimes.  Adjust or modify your schedule to make routine a priority.  Baby will go down easier if you do that.  Also your anxiety about the inevitable fussing can actually promote it!  Babies are in tune with the feelings of the  primary caregiver to a degree that is almost like a psychic connection!  Relax and lay the baby down.  Walk away after wishing a good nap or good night like it is the most natural thing in the world, because it is!

Enjoy your baby.  They grow up much too fast!
