Do all cars have rims? for cars that have hub caps what is the name of the metal thing the tires go on?

  1. Yes. It is called a rim.

    The wheel is the assembly of the rim and tire. The hub is what the wheel attaches to and is attached to the spindle with a bearing.


  2. all cars has rims or sometimes called wheels, that,s where the tire goes on. the hub caps or wheel covers sometimes called are just to cover up the rims.just get some from the junk yard, clean them up and spray paint them. alot cheaper then buying new ones.

  5. It's called a wheel or rim. Some use hubcaps and some do not. Most of the newer, more expensive models do not use hubcaps. The price of wheels varies greatly depending on the style and type of metal from which it's made.
