Do all digital cam-corders have nightvision or do u buy it seperatly?

No, not all of them have night vision. In fact it's hard to find a camcorder with it now a days. Sony used to produce a model with night vision until they found out people were using it to peep into other peoples windows at night.

The camera would have to have nightshot (sony) or catseye (panasonic).

Some cameras can be made to have it enhanced too.

Nightshot , & super nightshot is only good for 10 to 12 feet.

it helps to have a modified camera, and an infrared lightsource too, that may give you up to 50 feet or better.
