Do all four wisdom teeth have to be out to get surgery?

I feel one tooth starting to come out... do i have to wait for all four to be out to get them removed??? I'm 19

  1. Your dentist will run x-rays to see what is best. I had all 4 done at once... horrible, crunching, pressure..and the swelling; my head was HUGE after.


  2. i had four out in hospital....only one had erupted through the gum...the rest were still hiding under the gum.

    What they will do is take an x ray of your teeth and look at your wisdoms (mine were coming in lobsided). Normally they will want to get rid of all your wisdoms even if the others dont cause you discomfort because your wisdoms can cause pressure on your back teeth to push forward and it can make your teeth crooked. So if one tooth is already out it probably means that they will just pull that one out and cut open your gums and pull the rest out.

  3. not necessarily.  i had my bottom two removed 10 years ago.  my upper two have never come in.

  4. I don't think so. I had mine all removed before any came in at all.
