  1. Its common for most gas dryers to only need a 110v plug (a standard wall outlet).  Electric dryers, need 220v outlets.

    The only dryers I've ever seen that did not use any electricity, were those mounted on poles, outdoors (aka clotheslines, hehe)

  2. Yes its to turn the drum/switches etc.

  3. No they all dont..just the ones with clocks, digital read outs , and lghts..any item requiring electyricity..not all dryers have any of these features, but most do now days

  4. yes they do. I have never seen one that didn't. The heat source is gas but all the other safety controls ,etc are electric. Also,,there is always an electric motor to turn he drum.

    I dont know what that other guy is talking about.

  5. I seriously doubt you're going to find a dryer made that does not use electricity.Its needed to turn it on and off at the very least.Also to run the motor that turns the drum..
