  1. Most of your posters are absolutely correct.  Salmonella is a risk with turtles, and not just babies, but adults, too.  Always wash your hands after handling, and it's not a problem.

  2. Yes! turtles can carry diseases, even cute little baby ones. Wash your hands after every time you handle them because people have been known to contract salmonella from turtles...my boyfriend used to have two babies and he was advised to wash hus hands after handling because it is fairly easy to contract salmonella.   4. no they dont. you just hear about it a lot because there are SOME instances where baby turtle have salmonella. just like SOME raw eggs. do. just make sure to wash your hands whenever you finish handling them.
