  1. NO they dont there are many species of salamander and newt (which like frogs and toads are the same and there is no genetic/environmental/physical reason they are named like this it was just what sounded right when they were discovered) that only come to water to breed and a small number that dont even do that. most salamanders and newts can swim but some dont like to and a very few cant really swim very well at all


  2. yep all newts swim or at least i did a report last year on them and i didnt find any that couldent swim

  3. yes they are amphibians, which is indigenous to water environments...
