    thanks for asking..

  2. It's very simple, I have been in the oil business for a5 years.  It is supply and demand. The world uses 87million barrels and day, the world produces 85million a day.  China and India are becomming more and more industrailized, using more and more oil taken from the global market.  There is no question that drilling will rduce the price of oil, it always has, but it is not the answer.  Renewable sources of energy are a good 10 to 20 years away on a grand scale, we need the oil for  abridge till that time as well as wind and nulcear. The Enron loophoe is not the reason for the price of oil. The reason is suply and demand, it's that simple.

  3. You are asking this to Democrats who are driving more hybrids than republicans who drive the V10 trucks and Hummers.

  4. The short answer is "greed".

The long answer is a number of factors.

    1)  Republicans changed the oil futures market by allowing speculation. In 2000, 37 percent of the people in the oil futures market were speculators,  Now, speculators make up 71 percent of the market.

Harry Reid (D) introduced an oil speculation bill.  Republicans have blocked the bill.

    2)  Supply and Demand -- Oil companies are producing less, running at reduced capacity.

    3)  Supply and Demand -- China and India are using more oil.

    4)  Greed -- Once the price is raised at the pump, never let it go back to the original price.  Example $3 to $4 a gallon.  Oil drops, new price is $3.50 regardless of the price drop.

Just because the cost for the manufacturer drops, doesn't mean he will pass it along to the consumer.

  5. There are very few countries in the world that aren't suffering as a result of the oil crisis.

    So...do YOU know why?

  6. E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E, expensive

    O-B-A-M-A, Obama

Now that I've showed you the correct spelling for each word, go do your homework. Oh yeah, you asked me about why gas prices are so expensive.... well since I'm not in office, the only thing I can tell you is because people who vote in millionaires are losing out because these millionaires are cutting deals with these oil companies and making sure that they get a cut as well.

That's why. Do you have a better explanation?

Well you know, if it's supply and demand, then why is it that 8 years ago and years before that when clearly everyone had cars and were driving, gas prices weren't as high? You probably weren't even born then but there was a time when gas prices were $1 and some change, and you know what, people drove around a lot more than they do now.

Oh, did you learn that supply and demand thing today? Awesome. Now learn some more things tomorrow in school and in 5 years you can vote for something. Stay in school!

    "undeducated" - priceless.

  7. Yes I do

Its becuase of our out of touch Conservative Republican, president and his Conservative Republican views on everything, how much was gas when clinton(a liberal democrat) was in office again? 1 dollar?

Democrats have nothing to do with it, good job republicans hope your happy

  8. Wow....the sheer ignorance of even the most basic of economic principles displayed in this thread makes me sick.

While I am no Bush fan, I do not see how he can be the dumbest man alive (or at least to ever holdpublic office) and at the same time be the cause of all of our sufferings in order to make out like a bandit...that sounds more to me like an evil genius to me.

The oil "problem" is far more complex than any one person.  But it sure is a lot more convient to be able to blame someone...

The president of the US, whether Clinton or Bush or whoever does not set the price of oil...do some homework people.

  9. because we have a greedy ***  president that wants to start wars with major oil producing countries and not look into renewable energy sources, or tap the reserves that we are dumping thousands of gallons of oil into each month because if he did it would be less padding in his pockets.

  10. Because the liberal Congress are on Vacation and get nothing done.

  11. Yes because the Arab Nations controlthe price. We can't drill our way out. We need to start on a new course. Go to Obama.com and at least read his plan before judging.

  12. Gas is high because we have a Texas oilman as Commander In Chief .

What did everyone expect ? If we put Mccain in office there will be 8 more years of Bush economics , and we will be paying dearly for that mistake .

  13. I do! Do YOU?

  14. Because Bush is in the White House.  Prices are three times higher than when Clinton was in there, and that's far above the rate of inflation.

Sorry, you bozos don't get to blame Nancy Pelosi on this one.  Not without being called on your bozoness.
