Do all online high schools have to be accredited by the u.s board of education for them to be legit..?

Yes, all online collegs and universities HAVE TO BE accredited for your degree to be recognized by other academic institutions as well as organizations if your looking for a job.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. There is no such thing as a U.S. Board of Education. There is, however, a U.S. Department of Education, but they do not accredit schools. The United States does have a system of accreditation, but it is done by (mostly) autonomous organizations. For a list of real accreditors, go to the link I provide below. The only one missing from that list is CITA and I provide a link for that as well.

2. Just as there are fake online high schools, there are also fake accreditors. If they are not listed on one of those pages, I would ask about it at a reputable site like the Best Online High Schools one.

3. Belford High School is not legitimate. While I have no doubt they have had 90,000 customers, that is very different than graduates. No one would accept that as a real diploma except by mistake. They are not accredited by any recognized agency.

4. There is no such thing as a "GED Online Diploma Program." The GED is a program of the American Council on Education and does not have an online program.

5. Capitol High School: Any program that guarantees you a diploma in five days is a fake. Very simple. It is not accredited by any recognized agency.
