  2. i have to use glasses for near vision or reading.. so if you can read with glasses you are ok.. a pilot is tested for perficial vision.. also reading certain letters.. and also color blidness if you have bad vision and eye glasses correct this you can get through your medical.. ok gilermo.. to get a more accurate answer.. look in the phone book or call the faa for flight surgeons.. the rules may have changed since i started flying ok.. they can answer this accurately...

  3. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "less than -3.0", but here's the rules for civilian flying in the United States:

    For private recreational flying, you must have 20/40 vision or better, corrected or uncorrected.

    For commercial flying, you must have 20/20 vision (or better), corrected or uncorrected.

    There is no longer any requirement for uncorrected vision except for the military.  You just need to be correctable to those standards.
