It has came to my attention that if i required an armed response team it would take at least 45 minutes for one to reach me. If each police station had an M16 or two and chest plates etc and at least a couple of officers trained in firearms safety then immediate situations could be attended to before they got out of hand.

After all, (after seeing my virgin shooter uncle shooting the M16 at a range in Vegas flawlessly) it is apparent that our officers should be more than capable of handling these weapons even if the chance of them being required is low, It would make alot of people feel much safer. After all, only some cops are using tasers and most of them are only armed with a nightstick to chuck at bad guys.

  1. They used to have gun cabinets but now the ARV's are on duty all of the time and they carry the weapons with them.

In the event of a big incident then they have on call AFO's who will go to the main armoury and get kitted up.

Depends on where you live to how long it takes an ARV to get to you

  2. Cops with guns are worse than criminals with guns. At least when criminals shoot people they get done for it, when cops shoot people they get away with it. It makes me wonder who the real criminals are some days.

  3. The answer is no.

Some forces will have a few armouries spread around the force, whilst some will have one armoury.

All forces do however have a sufficient number of Armed Response Vehicles that work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are specifically used to respond to spontaneous firearms incidents or incidents where the police use of firearms may be necessary.

The ARV crew are equipped with sufficient options to deal with most incidents, i.e firearms, baton gun, Taser, Parva, baton. Some forces also have firearms dog that are trained in passive attack.

To say it takes 45 mins for an ARV to attend is unrealistic. It all depends where the ARV's are in the first place. When not at firearms incidents most ARV's are patrolling and dealing with general police work.
