Question:

Do all skull fractures require surgery?

I've recently been hit with a baseball on the left side of my head. No cut. I've only been feeling dizzy. The doctor said I have a skull fracture. If I do not need surgery how long should it take to recover and what can I do to help the recovering process?

  1. Probably, i dont think you can fix skull fractures just by binding your head in a cast.

  2. No most do not.  How long it takes to recover is up to you, but you will stop feeling dizzy in a day or two.  Probably ten days you will be almost totally back to normal

  3. I fractured my skull twice, once from a car accident, once from my brothers baseball bat. No surgery was required for either, it just had to heal on its own. That took about 2 months. Hurt quite a bit, and I had to be very careful with my head, but, everything turned out fine.
