I want to know whether ALL snakes have some sort of venom whether they use it or not? I know some snakes use constriction but do all snakes use venom to bite or not use it at all.

  1. Constrictors don't have venom...they kill purely by crushing.

Venomous snakes don't constrict at all...they kill by venom.

  2. snakes dont all have venom other wise they would not be able to be pets

  3. not all snakes have venom, such as garden snakes

  4. You answered your own question as you posed it.  Constrictors constrict, and venonmous snakes kill by biting, then going after the dying prey.

The newest/most recent snake discovery is a snake the size of a strand of spaghetti as an an adult and can sit on a quarter.  They are TINY.  They lack venom, as well.

So, the backyard is a safe place, after all.

  5. Only venomous snakes have venom thats about 250 species of the 3100 species of snakes worldwide meaning that 2850 snake species DO NOT HAVE ANY VENOM.

  6. no not all snake have venom those with venom strike their prey and release with the exception of the hognoses who have to chew into their prey to get the venom in. boas and pythons have no venom just sharp teeth and constrict because they have no venom to use

  7. NO

  8. This is a good question, and more and more experts think that ALL non-constricting snakes use venom to one degree or another.

Snake venom is a very complex chemical mix that varies species by species, and can even vary in one species over time or by location. The venom is produced in special glands on the sides of the snake's head. In some snakes, the gland is large enough to make the head a triangular shape- but some of the most toxic snakes, like cobras and mambas, do not have that triangle shape.

Apparently, all snakes have the 'machinery' to create and deliver venom, and to release it either along specific teeth or just into the mouth as part of the saliva (venom, by the way, is basically a saliva that works outside of the snake's mouth.)

Most saliva contains some elements that can be called 'venoms', even human saliva! So- it MAY be that the only difference between the venomous spit of a garter snake and that of a cobra may be the degree of toxicity. If this is true, then the question is 'which snakes have venom dangerous to humans or other large animals?'

MOST snakes do not have a saliva that is dangerous to humans and is not considered 'venomous'.

  9. No that is not true.

  10. no not all snakes have venom actually only a small percentage of snake species worldwide have venom

  11. no not all of them eg a garter snake
