  1. I would gather they do RR.

    Yay! got my voice back!!

  2. Reckon it's probably up to the individual clubs when they hit the pavement.

Most clubs have a newsletter, that details their starting date.

The sooner the better, I say, It gets the players out of bed before noon, and keeps them out of mischief.

  3. some start later it depends on there end of year trip

  4. well no not really it depends on which teams finish where for example carlton will be starting there pre season before geelong but its also up to the club but its normally where the club finishes in the home and away season or finals

  5. No they all start at differnt times, the Bulldogs have already started and other teams are still to start. Most if not all clubs are training in November, but start at different times.

  6. No, Some of them start later than others according to my knowledge.

  7. Actually they do, !    and more  for any other reason its   "calendar " related.    After their end of season break they return in November for their pre - Christmas assessments and introduction of new draftees .    They then have a two week Christmas break.    In January, its  full on as they prepare for the  pre - season comp which is around the end of February.

The only exception to this could be the 2 Grand Finalist's who finished their season's, later than the other teams .    As I said its all Calendar related and relevant, basically every week of the year is accounted for, with only October and 2 weeks in December, the time when AFL players  are not in training .

  8. No.

It is up to the club to decide when they go back into training and this can be influenced by things like how many players are recovering from off season surguries and so on. Another factor is the clubs perspective on how important the pre season competition is. Some teams need the money or alternatively some success to attract more paying members. In these circumstances teams start training much earlier so that they have a fitness advantage in the pre season comp. However some of the large sucessful clubs dont care about the pre-season comp so they start training as late as possible in part to give people recovery time from injuries but also often in the belief that training itself produces wear and tear on the body and that by starting later the players are more likely to still be physically strong when it comes the business end of the season.  I can remember either this year or the possibly the previous, when one of the teams (kangaroos?) started training virtually the week after the grandfinal and yet some teams and only started traininglatein the new year.
