Do all the american Olympians go to the opening and closing cermony?

ive noticed like some sports are one week and so many are the other week so like do y'all know if t they get to stay for the whole olympics if there done before the end of the games or if they get to come in for the opening if there event isnt till the last week?

Nope, like Phelps wasn't in the Opening Ceremonies because he had an event.

No, not all of them go.  Some skip the opening ceremonies because their events start right away, others whose events are late in the games may not have arrived in Beijing yet.  The closing ceremonies typically have better attendance since the games are over and everyone is more relaxed, but some athletes whose events were finished early in the games may have gone home.

Yes, they get to go to both unless they are alternates who came in late and thus missed the opening ceremony.

most go to closing but not to opening, most swimmers didnt go to opening because they had to race the next morning
