First bashing is a shock, the second is unbelievable, the third became the absolute truth, and the fourth, fifth have made things weird... sour grapes. the things started to change... If keep the bashings lost controls like this, what are the consequences? the westerners are not beautiful anymore. And the dividing line is getting clear, who are the friends of China, and who are not. the emotional friendship tells everything, any excuse or explanation are white lies. that may send the message that they don't like China not because its communism but its rise, and the potential lose of their superiority over the century due to its rise. And how can people worldwide trust the western media and their bashing on China in the future?

  1. Paul O is the first time Ive ever read some one with an intelligent thought out non hating answer. I mean I love china and all its success the more China grows the more America grows we are interdependent and excellent trading partners. China has a rich and unique history filled with mostly peace and harmony that westerners can not understand. We both have developed independently yet have developed unique and great civilizations.

But anyways It does bother me that I feel as trading partners we are losing. See when we come in to china we pour in all this technology and knowhow that we spent alot of effort in developing. For example Microsoft spends millions developing software that we as Americans pay for, Yet in china they will just copy the disk and sell it for much less. Its almost like as Americans we are taking the bill for your luxury's.

The thing is we both need each other. Yet American negotiates by your rules not our rules which makes us lose out. This makes Americans bitter. Also to be harsh all the recent development has been since China allowed America to start investing in China. Its almost like your should be grateful we gave you so much technology and knowhow just so we can be partners.

But when You/China becomes the world power I hope instead of taking revenge on the west by exploiting us like we did to you, that you just be better then us and lead by example.

  2. Partially its sour grapes--we don't want to lose our status as the world's lone superpower.  We are very proud of our history in sports, economy, and helping the world as a beacon of democracy and freedom.

That's why this new China is intriguing and a bit alarming.  We are aware of the Chinese government's efforts to stifle information.  There are enough stories about Chinese bloggers disappearing.  About Christians and other religious groups getting "questioned."  We also hear about the forced abortions and the web filtering.  These are disturbing to us in the US where our freedoms are precious.  We are sad for the Chinese people, even though it is improving.

We are also tired of Chinese companies copying and pirating US technology.  Movies will be released on the street in Hong Kong before they are even released in US theatres.  Microsoft products can be bought in convincing packaging for a very small price right on the street in China.  Cisco routers are being copied by Huawei and sold.  US missile technology is being stolen and used in Chinese missles.

On the other hand, China is a beautiful country with a rich history.  It has very hard-working people and a beautiful culture.  I hope the US and China can become allies in the future.  I hope the Chinese government gives her people more freedoms, starts punishing Chinese companies that steal from the US, and stops trying to block information.  I hope the US welcomes the Chinese as trade partners and listens to their ideas.

As for me, I'm learning Mandarin.  Ni How. :)

  3. com'on, I give you one word: racists

think about it, slavery, colonization, they are all about white supremacy

They talk about human rights, and yet, african americans are still getting "special treatment" today

many europeans/americans still think Chinese as the "sick asian men"

plus the whole China's communist country thing just gives them another outlet to bash Chinese.

with the West, it's like, if you are not my puppet, you are my enemy

  4. The west has always think the east must follow them. Thus they have been telling the east what to do all these years, and there are still some who think they are more right than the east because they are the west and are thus superior and smarter.

They just did not bother to look into their own house..

  5. U.S. is bashing not because China won. It's cause they see the way that the scores are not correctly scored. I mean many of the judges are chinese. The chinese are known to blackmail peeps.

  6. Yea I don't think it's a good idea for the US to bash its lender.

  7. As mum used to say 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.

The games are not over just yet... I would bet then the games are over and China did have the highest gold medal count I bet there will be many Chinese nationals going on about Chinese being the best race etc etc etc. But at the moment the track and field events are on and Chinese does not have the best athletes  for these events. The games was going to be political by both sides this year.....

Secondly NOT all westerners do bash China, its the ones that usually shout the loudest get heard.
