Question:

Do all theories ultimately reduce to physics?

Are all questions answerable (in principle) by reference to physical theories? Or must we invoke 'higher level', irreducible theories in the attempt to answer certain questions (about economics, sociology, etc.)?

If all theories do not reduce to physics, what is the scope of physics? For example, at what point do we transitions from talk about particles and forces (physical concepts) to talk about value and labor (economic concepts)?

  1. i think all reduces to physics in the end. even economics and sociology.

but it doesn't really make that much sense to talk about physics when discussing economics, though theories in economics, i think can always be explained, and perhaps even possibly sometimes arrived at, well maybe not yet that much, via physics.

it's kind of like your computer in the end is 1s and 0s but it doesn't really make much sense to talk about 1s and 0s when learning a computer program.

  2. I don't think anyone has the knowledge to answer that question.  Of course people can theorize or speculate, but you might as well be asking what happens after we die.  The simple and honest truth is that nobody knows.... .... .... yet.
