  1. yes, that's what gives the word life it's meaning.

  2. a dead thing is something that has ceased to be alive or exist

you can even say this about love because love can die...

  3. Yes all dead things were alive once

  4. When I came into this world, I opened my eyes and cried....and I've been dead ever since!    So, my answer is, "no".

  5. Absolutely.  Inanimate and "dead" are very different terms.  The definition of being dead requires you to have had life.

  6. Something can't be dead unless it lived.

  7. something cant be classified as dead unless it was at one time alive

  8. Very interesting!  Although simple examination of a dictionary would explain the word "dead".  Basic it means it had to be alive a one time in some form.   Now that does leave a bit of margin because it is we humans that put a definition on the words, life and death (i.e. dead).

However could you say your key board you are typing is dead, i.e. the material side, then yes because it is made of plasitc which is made for oil which came from decayed dinosaurs.

Now is your keboard dead cause it doesn't respone to your typing...  that's a different kinda "dead" for another thread.. lol
