Do all universities have the option of having your own dorm (single) as a freshman?

No.  And I went to a private school with one of the largest endowments in the U.S.  There were some freshmen who got one, but the vast majority did not, and it was pretty much completely random (unless there's a health issue).

No they don't. And if they do it's going to be pretty expensive. It's $12,000 at my school to have your own private dorm. If it's something you're really worried about than you can see about getting an apartment or something, but other than that it's just part of the college experience that everyone has to go to. But it's really not that bad.
