do all universities use A, B, C, D, and Fs? so there are no percentages? and on the GPA grading system, do most universities have their maximum GPA at 4.0 or 4.33?

  1. Some schools use percentages to get to your grade, because they give like A+, A, A-, B+,B, B- etc. So depending on what your percent was in the class will determine the grade you get. Then instead of a B being 3.0, its like 3.5 and a B+ is like a 3.8 or something, not sure exactly of the cutoff for each. But I know that there are a good amount of schools who use this system.


  2. Not all universities use A, B, C, D, and F as their grading system. Some, like Hampshire, don't use grades at all - they use a written evaluation system. Others use Pass/Fail, and other sorts of systems. But most do use the A, B, C... etc. system.

    All the unis I know of that use GPAs have their max GPA as a 4.0. You can't get higher than a 4.0 in a college class.
