  1. yep there is a staion on staples mills rd and downtown richmond ....

  2. better clarify what state you want.  amtrak has multiple richmond stations.

i would assume you mean virginia, and not california.  if so, there are multiple amtrak trains every day between alexandria VA and richmond VA.  schedules on weekend have some differences from the weekday schedules.

all of amtrak's trains require reservations, so schedules and fares will depend on your travel date and time of travel.  reserve as early as possible on the web site, by 800 phone, or at ticket office or travel agency.

richmond has 2 train stations, one at staples mill road (all trains stop there, so more flexibility), and 1 in downtown (only certain trains stop in downtown).  make sure you find out which is best for where and when you are trying to go.

you can check web site at www.amtrak.com or call 1.800.usa.rail (872.7245).  amtrak also has links to google maps for their stations and its neighbourhoods.

note too that at alexandria, there is another company called VRE, they go as far as fredericksburg, but not to richmond. so when you are on the platform, make sure you board an amtrak train and not a VRE train.

  3. Amtrak has numerous trains that run from King Street station in Alexandria to both Staples Road station and Main Street station in Richmond.  The trip takes about two hours.

For a full listing, check out Amtrak's website:

    http://www.amtrak.com

Depending on which train you take, the cost ranges from about $24 to about $45.

  4. sorry there is no Alexandria in California

there is a richmond (its services by BART and Amtrak)

  5. you mean alexandria VA?????????
