Do ambulance companies offer flexible hours for college students?

I live in Southern CA and want to become an EMT to gain experience while going to college to become a firefighter like my father. Does your ambulance company, or EMT employer, offer flexible schedules for college students.

Flexible schedules?  Well, put it this way: EMT’s are always needed.  My best advice is to find times during the week which you can ALWAYS work, even if it is two nights a week.  Apply for positions letting them know these are the hours you can work, and see what they say.  Some will be happy to get the much needed help, and others it wont work for the schedules they already have with current staff.

i am in tennessee, and the company i work for does, they will find someone to cover part of your shift while you are at school.. also, the company i work for will pay for you to further your career, but you of course have to stay with them for a certain period of time.
