Do america and europe need to stay out of the georgian conflict ?

the conflict in georgia is esclating out of control at the moment and im concerned that intervention from the eu or the us my cause a war ..which unlike what im seeing from israilis americans and brits " we should kick the russians asses " blah blah blah i believe is a war they wont and culd not win ...not with chinease support what do you think

i think us going in would definately be stupid and could even start WW3!! I really feel for everyone over there but do feel that we shouldn't be involved in any conflict between other countries as it is not helping our country and that's what soldiers sign up for - to fight for their own country!!

Militarily Yes America should maintain a diplomatic approach on this because getting involve directly in Military form will give want the Russians has been asking. Georgia isn't really  strategic its more of a press release for the US. The first response should come from members of the European Union or to EU itself to prove that he can stand on its own and the US can back them up. The Russian is not really a contender to the US military might. Have you seen their tanks and poorly equip army? it's like the Stalin army raise from the grave that didn't do any facial upgrade. The US can wipe the Russian army without sending any soldier in that region. But like I said you don't give what your enemy ask for.

This war is in fact America V Russia and its 1-0 to Russia. Georgia is backed by America as the U.S want them to join Nato.

It's not a case of need it's a case of got to. This is a wake up call Russia will only ever move when it thinks it can win and it knows that it has such a huge land mass that it is impossible to conquer.

The west must must find a way out of it's dependence on Oil from the most politically unstable area of the world and it must be able to defend itself. Cold war round two has started and we must ensure it does not become a hot war. Russia knows that the West is preoccupied and that is the reason for the move

Russia is no pushover. Both Napoleon and Hitler made that mistake. Russia still retains a nuclear arsenal well capable of reducing the world, let alone USA, to rubble. We do not need to bend over too much, but maybe the west could be a little more thoughtful in it's dealings with Russia, if only for our own safety and security

We should stay out of it unless Russia fully invades and attempts to overthrow the Georgian government.

What should happen is the west to use this as leverage for Russia to accept Kosovo as an independent country, since its objections are muted by their support for South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Russia is pretty strong in that region;they just found a good reason to threw  Georgian government that wants to be a part of Nato.

I hope that this will be solved without military actions of U.S and Europe, in case they interfere war will  escalate; we do not know what will happen next,but it could become very dangerous.On the other hand Georgian forces have already left Iraq at Iranian border to fortify they forces in Georgia, which makes Iranian influence in iraq easier if not immediately substituted.Let's see what will happen next....

What U.S wants:

1) Get  Abkhazia back to Georgia.

2) Georgia becomes a member of Nato.

3) Stong Georgia to prevent Russian influence.
